The concept of the NFL Youth Education Town (YET) was born out of the desire of the National Football League to leave a lasting legacy to communities hosting a Super Bowl, and was founded on the philosophy that by coupling education with recreation, disadvantaged children can overcome the obstacles to success. The NFL YET Miami is a collaborative effort between Communities In Schools (CIS) of Miami, Miami-Dade County Department of Parks and Recreation , Boys and Girls Club of Miami, and several other partner organizations. A myriad of sports, educational, social service, cultural and health programs are provided for approximately 500 neighborhood youth and their families per day at the NFL YET Miami.
